About 57357

Children's Cancer Hospital, also known as 57357 Hospital, is one of the largest children's hospitals in the world, located in Cairo, Egypt, and specializing in the treatment of juvenile cancers.

This hospital is notable for being created entirely through donations, with a huge advertising effort following its construction. The idea of constructing Egypt's first free hospital for the treatment of children's oncology began in 1999, following an increase in the percentage of kids with cancer and the inability of Egypt's National Cancer Institute to accommodate this large number of patients, as well as the death of sick children due to a lack of possible treatments for many of them, and the opening of the first bank account No. 57357 in Banque Misr and the National Bank of Egypt in all branches to collect donations for this project, Mrs. Ola Lotfy is the inspiration for the establishment of The Hospital.

In Egypt, as many as ten thousand youngsters are diagnosed with cancer each year.

The hospital opened its doors on July 7, 2007, with a capacity of 30 beds in the first phase, in preparation for its subsequent operation at a full capacity of 185 beds, which is anticipated to rise to 365 beds. The project was supported in many ways, including advertisements for football players and actors on Egyptian television and satellite channels urging people to donate open accounts in banks, donations via the Internet fixed telephone calls to 09009555 or 09000957 and mobile number 2357, and fundraising campaigns were organized in schools and universities.

Hospital consistency & Extension consistency:

The term "consistent behavior" refers to performing or doing things in the same way over time. Since 2004, the hospital has provided excellent humanitarian and volunteer services to patients and their families. Introducing the formation of Corporation 57357 as a separate legal entity to be responsible for the second phase of the hospital project, from operation to the current time, through a holistic vision based on ensuring financial sustainability. The way the hospital holds together, as a full organization with all of its aspects, requires a great deal of work, organization, and discipline to maintain the hospital consistent:

Children's Cancer Facility 57357 is the world's largest pediatric oncology hospital by capacity.

·      The hospital has 345 inpatient beds.

The hospital's workforce is 2,548 employees

Among them:

·       379 full and part time doctors.

·       726 male and female nurses.

·       184 pharmacists in various jobs and activities.

·       87 researchers (33 researchers among editors of data and

information, reviewing the quality of work, and 54 researchers

from basic research in laboratories).

·      613 employees in the administrative sector.

The management, in collaboration with the founders, was successful in leading the association with a scientific concept and approach via the implementation of numerous projects that helped to solving a big portion of the institute's difficulties, such as the development of facilities, the establishment of the institute's children's clinic, the clinical pharmacy project, the genetics laboratory project, the platelet donation laboratory, and a home Hospitality, and a blood dosing laboratory to provide safe blood for patients. In order to enhance the level of doctors, the association has also implemented education and training programs

Extension consistency:

The main branch in Cairo, Sayeda Zeinab, it receives children and serves as a second home for them, morally and financially.

There is another branch in Tanta that opened in 2015 Helps heal the children of the Delta and northern Egypt.

And there is a branch in Aswan that has yet to open, and work on it was proceeding, but with the hospital currently suffering a financial difficulty, it is probable that work on it will be halted.

More about the Hospital:

The most significant initiative AFNCI built was the Children's Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357. It is the world's largest pediatric cancer treatment hospital in terms of capacity. It is more than just a hospital; it is a comprehensive organization dedicated to treating pediatric cancer by providing all children with free, high-quality medical care regardless of their financial situation.

The hospital 57357 is developing new criteria for providing free medical care. The 57357 institutions created cutting-edge fundraising tactics to preserve the Hospital's survival and maintain its role as a unique center for treatment, research, and training. Most importantly, these concepts were adopted by a wide spectrum of other humanitarian organizations, benefiting the entire Egyptian civil society.

In 1998, the Association of Friends of the National Cancer Institute (AFNCI), currently known as the Association of Friends of the National Cancer-free Initiative, became a non-profit organization. Its aim is to improve the quality of life for cancer patients at the NCI by developing, renovating, and training facilities. The Institute's overall survival rates for children with cancer have improved as a result of this initiative.

The Association's founding president was the late professor Dr. Reda Hamza, who served as the NCI's dean in 1995. In an effort to improve the survival rates of these young patients, he and a group of young physicians discussed establishing a hospital for children with cancer that provides free services.

Through the Association (AFNCI), which was in charge of tenders, designs, constructions, electro-mechanical works, interior decoration, equipment, and fundraising, a group of patriotic merchants supported the Hospital project from the beginning. The 57357 foundations were established in 2004 to manage the hospital's operations, sustainability, and growth.

The hospital is working to redefine the idea of free healthcare and increase pediatric cancer cure rates to 80–85% of the global average. The hospital has been in business for 11 years and has an average overall survival rate of 73%.

By contributing to the finance of 57357's new expansion project and its educational and training initiatives, AFNCI continues to assist the organization. The joint pediatric oncology fellowship program between 57357 and Dana Farber Boston Children's, USA, is sponsored by AFNCI in collaboration with Egyptian Cancer Network, ECN in the USA, with the goal of developing a new generation of specialized, well-trained physicians capable of changing and improving the healthcare provided to cancer patients. The Association supports several training programs for pharmacists, such as clinical pharmacy and pharmacogenomics, in addition to supplying the Hospital with its needs for safe blood from its blood bank as needed. Additionally, it covers the costs of scientists' and doctors' travel to and from Egypt for meetings and the dissemination of knowledge.

The IPPR's overarching objectives are to prepare residents for careers as educators and providers of pharmaceutical care.

Great risk

The Children's Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357 (CCHE 57357) is on the verge of closing owing to a shortage of donations and funds in the final quarters of 2022. Costs and financial constraints on the hospital have continued to rise as a result of the institution's lack of funding and current inflation. Donations during this period, according to sources, have dropped by 80 to 88 percent compared to previous years, forcing the hospital to liquidate its final deposit in order to treat its 18,000 child patients. Furthermore, the hospital has limited its surveillance of patients beyond the age of 22, and it is unable to accept new patients on its 17,500-case waiting list. The drop in funding has coincided with local inflation and currency rate swings, most notably the exponential climb of the United States dollar in contrast to the Egyptian pound. As a result, treatment expenses have increased threefold. Due to declining funds, the hospital's Tanta branch, which has 47 beds and serves the Delta region, will now be managed by Tanta University.

In response to the revelation, several artists and famous celebrities have gone to social media to express their displeasure, including Amr Youssef and Zamalek football sensation Shikabala, who raised a "Save Hospital 57357" shirt ahead of a match scheduled for December 20.

The country desperately needs this CCHE "57357" facility, which is closely related to a crucial GE "healthy magination" issue of accessibility. According to Egypt's National Cancer Institute, roughly 25,000 new cancer cases are documented each year, with nearly 8,000 of those being children. The Youngsters's Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357 has been a vital source of care for many of these children, and its loss would be terrible to the thousands of patients it currently serves. With the hospital's future uncertain, it is critical that the government take the necessary steps to ensure that it does not close its doors.
